Smog-filtering bicycles will first time roll out in China by the end of the year
Disclosed at the TED gathering in April, the "Brown haze Free Bicycles" are a piece of Roosegaarde's suite of items to address the worldwide air contamination emergency. A year ago, he uncovered a Smog Free Tower in China that could refine 30,000 cubic meters (around 1 million cubic feet) of air each hour. The gathered residue is changed to design extras—rings and sleeve buttons—so promoters can wear Beijing's exhaust cloud as token mori.

The Smog Free Bicycle had remained to a great extent a calculated rendering until ofo's 26-year-old CEO Da Wei formally requested that Roosegaarde cooperate with him when they were in front of an audience at the Dailan World Economic Forum in May. "He puts his hand forward… he astonished me," reviews Roosegaarde. "I shook his hand and that was the starting… That's the Chinese way."
With Beijing-based ofo's armada of 6.5 million bicycles in more than 150 urban communities and 3 million every day clients, Roosegaarde trusts his air-refining bicycles can lastingly affect improving dangerous air contamination around the globe. "We're eager. This is not implied as an irregular, masterful venture," he clarifies. "Contemplating a large number of these bicycles, we can truly affect the air quality list of a city."
He has had a measure of achievement with Smog Free Tower. A current report by Eindhoven University of Technology educator Bert Blocken demonstrated that Roosegaarde's creation viably diminished contamination up to 45% inside 20 meters (65 feet).
